Update from Weston Recruitment - August 2020

Weston Recruitment are pleased to have placed a candidate in a Financial Advisory company in Mayfair last week and both candidate and client are really pleased. Despite difficult times in the economy and a lot of uncertainty there are roles available and PA/ Assistant roles are still being recruited for and the need for someone physically in an office Monday and Friday. We are pleased that our fee structure allows clients to allocate more for a candidate’s salary then on the recruitment fee which is Weston Recruitment’s aim to continue changing the landscape.

We are heavily focused on developing our international relationships and are working with a lovely Saudi Arabian family who always look to secure the top talent. We are confident with our structure we will secure more top roles with the best salaries for our candidates and envisage that despite the restrictions and constraints we all face there are still the right roles for candidates and we hope to continue connecting these and ensuring a successful placement on both sides. Weston Recruitment is virtual and online yet providing a boutique service where both clients and candidates are cared for 24/7 and in any time zone.

We are feeling positive about the next 6 months and are becoming more active in the tech space and other new avenues. The key in times of uncertainty is the willingness to adapt and learn a new skillset and have a flexible mindset. Clients and candidates choose Weston Recruitment for the boutique service where every client and candidate are looked after from the beginning to the end of a process and thereafter. As a candidate even if you are not involved in a process we still offer our time and guidance and are always proactively thinking which clients and roles you would be suitable for and we aim to engage and keep communication levels high so that you feel looked after not just during these difficult times, but at all times.  You have direct access to the Director and Founder of the business and I think this is reassuring for both client and candidate.

During times of uncertainty I find applying proactive updates are helpful. Whether it is making changes to your CV, including an up to date headshot, having current references and a well formatted and presented CV are all tools to make you feel positive about your future. Often it can be that a CV doesn’t reflect the candidate to their full potential and this will be something we always advise to make sure we can at least secure you an interview when we feel will you are right for a role. I really emphasise that all my candidates include a headshot with their CV as it makes it so much more engaging and really brings your profile to life. I think staying open about roles, companies and industries are key as quite often where a job may not be what you think you would be good at, the company culture and ethos can be so unique and well suited that it changes your preconceptions on its head.

Again, this is why I always encourage candidates to attend every interview they secure – you never lose anything and can only gain an insight into another industry or be introduced to a new network or perhaps consider an opportunity you had not thought of going for before. The recruiter will know background details and have an in-depth knowledge of the client and the role so I always suggest candidates to some degree to be guided as a job description and salary may not paint the whole picture.

Spending time if you can in nature and with family and friends where possible and learning a new hobby are all the tools I think that will keep you propelling forward to where you want to be and Weston Recruitment really hopes to share your journey and help in any way that we can. Your goals and achievements are our vision too and we firmly hope and believe we are going into new and exciting times that we can drive forward together.

Please contact jessica@westonrecruitment.co.uk with your CV and headshot. I look forward to discussing your next steps!
